Blood Collection Requirements for the T-SPOT^®.TB Test

TYPE:            Whole Blood

VOLUME:       Adults & Children over 10 years old: 6 mL
                     Children 2 - 9 years of age: 4 mL
                     Children up to 2 years of age: 2 mL

                     NOTE: If indiviudal is immunosuppressed collect two tubes of
                     blood

HANDLING:   Collect in a lithium or sodium heparin tube
                     Whole blood specimens must be maintained at room
                     temperature until packaged for transport

LABELING:    Required Information:
                     Patient Name
                     Patient Identifier (e.g. Medical Record Number)
                     Patient Date of Birth
                     Date and Time of collection
